A Fun New Swap . . .
and I got my first one done. I have been involved with the Inchy Flower Hexagon Swap group for many years now and the cute gal that is the Swap Mommy for that group thought it would be fun to have a Patchwork of the Crosses (POTC) Block swap. so she got a few of us together to do a trial run in December and than start the Swap officially in January. The POTC I made is for the Swap Mommy, Debbie and she wanted it so it would look good on a black background.
Hope she likes it ~
I took this picture on my work table and it is dark brown but it looks black and so I think the block will go well on the black background Debbie is planning on using.
Gosh, I had forgotten how long these blocks take to make with all the fussy cutting and fabric selection and design. Plus, after I finished this block, I loved it so much I don't want to send it away!! Boy, am I terrible or what!! Boo! Hoo!! I still want to keep it!! Well, I guess I'll just have to make one for me!!

I Have Started Playing!!
I have started taking things out to the Studio because we finally got the moisture leaks all sealed up!! Well, at least my sweet brother Kelly got them all sealed up!! Yay, Kelly!!
This is what you see when you first walk in the door. Those industrial tables (there are two of them backed up to each other) will be my work table and cutting table.
As you walk in to the right are my machines - sewing and sit-down long arm - Fredricka.
At the back of the studio will be another work table (under the hung quilt) and my little refrigerator!! On either side of the quilt going along the two side walls will be my two large racks for bolts of fabric. I am not putting them up until the electrician comes in and gets all of the socks and switches in the walls. Everything else I can pull away from the wall for him to have the open space he needs but the shelves of fabric are wayyyyyy too heavy to move once they are full.
Under the windows on the east wall is my cute little antique round table and chairs for friends to come sew or chat or eat with me!! I can see right now I need to make a cute table topper for that sweet table!!
There is also my ironing board and some shelves on the north wall that I am sure will be full, full full before I know it!!
Both work tables have three drawers and sleeves underneath for more storage. And locking wheels so I can keep them stable or move them around as needed. Not a lot of room to move around as needed but the thought is fun!!
As you can see, I'm a long ways from having it finished but it is now usable and a quilt is going on the work table tomorrow to be sandwiched for Fredricka!!

Lots of Extra Fabric on Hand!!
When I signed up to be a vendor at the Portland Quilt Expo in September, I was told that I would be so busy that I would not get a chance to sit down for the entire three days!! NOT!!
I bought lots and lots of Bella Solids because that is my lost leader at $6.00 a yard!! And now I have an excess of Moda Bella Solids in several different colors. So, I thought I would offer my blogging friends a good deal just in time for Christmas.
Here are the colors I have:

Today is Monday, Right?? Winners of the Giveaway Announced!!
It's been one of those weeks!! I could not believe yesterday was Monday, first of all and second, where in the world did it go? But I had a chat with Mr. Random Number Generator and he chose 3 winners!!
Dotti
who lives in Connecticut and does not have a blog but she does keep me on my toes if I don't get my Saturday Smiles out on time!! Dotti likes French Age real and report fabrics, so I am guessing she will like some French General Mini Charms!!
Deanna
who blogs over at Wedding Dress Blue. I met Deanna many years ago on our blogs but never got the chance to meet up in person even though she just lived down the road from me when I lived in Logan, UT. I KNOW Deanna loves postage stamp quilts because I have seen many on her blog over the years!! Will she pick Contemporary or Dark and Dirty?
Sharon
I think Sharon used to blog but it looks like no longer. She likes Contemporary, so I am going to see if I still have something from BasicGrey.
Congratulations to the 3 winners and a big thank you to
all of you that played along!!

I Have Gotten a Bit of Sewing Done and a Giveaway!!
We are at a point now where we are just waiting for the roofer to have a couple of good days where he can come and work on the Studio roof, so Saturday and yesterday I did a bit of sewing!! Woo! Hoo!!
I have a million, well, maybe not a million but 100s and 100s of the mini Charm Packs - the little guys that are 2-1/2 inches square. Janet O. over at Rogue Quilter's favorite kind of size!! So I was trying to figure out how to use them efficiently.
By adding 12 extra squares that I cut in addition to 2 mini Charm Packs, I was able to make 6 - 16 patch blocks ~
This collection is Pondicherry by French General. I made them leader-end style and at the 2-square stage I tried to pick squares that contrasted with each other.
I am quite pleased at how they turned out and I have enough collections to pick from that I can just keep making blocks from different collections that will coordinate with these blocks and before you know it (yeah right, not at my speed) I should have a new queen-size quilt for my bed!!
Because I have sooooooooo many packs of these little goodies, I would like to share some with three different quilters!!
So, here are the GAME RULES:
For each of the three rules below, you will get one change in the lottery!!
1. Leave a comment telling me 2 things - 1) what style of collection (i.e. French General; Dark and Dirty aka Civil War; Patriotic; Contemporary, etc.) you would want to have if you win and 2) if you were to make a queen-size quilt, would you sash between the blocks or just randomly sew blocks together. And for those of you that found this post on Facebook, please let me know that too, will you?
2. Follow me if you don't already and if you do, tell me you do.
3. In the upper-right hand corner of my blog is a link to my renovation blog - Bandon-by-the-Sea, click on that link and check out my progress. Leave a comment on ANY of the posts.
ALL three rules must be completed in order to have a chance in the drawing.
I will be giving each of the THREE winners THREE Mini Charm Packs of their choice plus a mini spool of Aurifil thread so your blocks will be perfect!!!!
Giveaway will close Saturday, November 18th at midnight. Mr. Random Number Generator will pick the winners the next Monday morning!!
NOTE: If you are a no-response commenter, please leave and email address where I can reach you if you are one of the winners!!

My Quilt Studio is About Ready for Move-In!!
We have all the windows in and tomorrow is the door and the vents. Next week the roofer is coming to finish the roof with Weathered Copper metal roofing!! I wanted to hear the sound of the rain when I am out there!!
I am so excited about the big window in the front. It is 6 foot by 3 foot and it is going to be so nice to have all the extra light.
This is the view from inside!! It is looking northerly!!
It is so close I can taste it but yet I have to wait until next weekend to start moving in!!

The Enchanting Rose 11th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange Reveal
Stephanie over at The Enchanting Rose hosted the 11th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange this Fall and today is the reveal of what we received. I participated in both the Tea Cup and Mug Exchanges and was so blessed by the wonderful boxes of goodies I received!!
For the Tea Cup Exchange I received a super fun box of goodies from JoJo Hall who writes a wonderful quilting and travel blog, Join the World Quilting Travel Adventure. Now, most of the cookies and hot chocolate are gone now or almost gone!! The Sillycow hot chocolate is amazing with a huge dollop of whipping cream on top!!
The tea cup and saucer are so unique, I just love it!!
Thank you, JoJo, you made me feel special!!
For the Mug Exchange I also received an amazing box of goodies from Cheryl Smith who writes the beautiful blog, Homespun Devotions. Funny thing is that I don't drink coffee or tea but LOVE hot chocolate. So, Cheryl spoiled me too!
The mug is fabulous!! On the inside rim it reads "We the people of the United States of America . . . " She told me she found the mug in an antique shop and thought it would be perfect for me!! It certainly is, Cheryl!!
Plus she found out my favorite color (and fragrance) is lavender, so she added some wonderful lavender goodies to my box and a beautiful little book of sayings that remind one how fragile life really is. One of my favorite sayings is "[i]t is not he who has little, but he who wants more, who is poor."!! Thank you Cheryl, I love everything. And by the way, all the ginger cookies are long gone!!
And thank you to dear, sweet Stephanie over at The Enchanting Rose for hosting yet another breathtaking Exchange!! Hugs to you, girlfriend!!
