And a Second Bin Bites the Dust . . .

Some of these bins have sooooo many little tiny scraps in them that I have been saving for years, thinking I would use them some how some day.

Well, I have come to the realization that those teenie tiny pieces are never going to turn into a quilt of any kind!!  So, I got together with me, myself and I and we made the executive decision to just throw those little pieces away.

Oh, my, it nearly broke my heart, but I put on my big girl panties and just did it!!  Here is proof ~

Now, all the fabric I am taking from the bins is being separated into groups for other projects!!

The pile above are narrow strings that will be used for my coiled bowls.

In this pile, the strings are wider so they will be used in my on-going  string block project ~

These are the 2-1/2 inch strips I have cut up for various projects!!

Yikes, as I am posting these pictures, I just realized that the bins I have been emptying are being replaced by new bins of fabric.  I think this is what my brother calls the moving of deck chairs on the Titanic.

I'd better get to work using some of these new bins of fabric!!  But not so much right now.  I am still working for the 2020 Census and this week we are up to full speed ahead!!  So, for the most part, the sewing will be in my head!!

Hope you are all enjoying life and staying safe and healthy!!

Slow Sunday Stitching!!

This is the pattern I pulled out of my first "clean up" box!  So fun to be working on it this time of the year!!  And since the government has taken away my opportunity to go to Church these days, this is a good reminder how important Independence Day is and how precious and how fragile our freedoms are to us!!

I Started Playing a Game . . .

to see if I can clean up and straighten up all the cluttered boxes I have sitting around.

The first thing I decided was that, except for the fabrics I have on bolts and the larger flat pieces, I am cutting everything up into 2-1/2 inch lengths.  From there I can make lots and lots of different quilts.

I take a box of "stuff" - fabrics, patterns notions, etc and dump it on my cutting table ~

Then I go through it and see all the fun stuff that has been boxed away for way too long and I sort through it.

If it's fabric, I cut it up - here is a batch of random 2-1/2 inch lengths (from a previous box) ready for whatever.

If there is a project that I have started, I will keep it out and work on it as I am able. This is one that I started awhile back and thought the 4th of July weekend was a perfect time to work on it!!

I am trying to not to pick and choose - I am trying to work on each box and complete everything in it before I go onto the next box.

I will be working on the pile at the top of this post tomorrow!!  I am still working for the 2020Census but there is a lull right now and so I have a bit more time to do the things I love!!
