A Few Little Odds and Ends . . .

I got my June Swap POTC block completed and it will go in the mail to Maree down in Australia in the morning ~

Then, I also got all my fabrics cut out for the Mystery Quilt I am doing in a Facebook group (there are more than these but I have already started putting the other parts together) ~

And got some of the parts put together ~

I think it is going to be fun when it all gets done!!

And then finally, I have been working to try to figure out how to "nest" one row of pattern to the next row.  It is really hard but today I had a break through and at least have somewhat of a clue as to how to do it.

Now, it is just practice, practice, practice!!  Plus I am going up to Coos Bay the day after the 4th of July to take a class at the place where I purchased Martha (my longarm's name).

Never a dull moment!!

Slow Sunday Stitching . . .

Well, this is my last swap Patchwork of the Crosses block.  I have gotten all the pieces fussy cut and sewn onto the papers.  Now, I just need to sew the pieces together.

I'm hooking up with Kathy over at Kathy's Quilts.  Come see what everyone is playing with today!!

It was Exciting the First Time . . .

I finally got to the first star row and it was just as much fun this second time.  Because now I know that I am making a flag!!  Plus, I know I only have 8 rows left to go!!

It's looking like I might make my goal of next Monday to have this top completed!!

Making Time for a Little Sewing . . .

In this super busy life that I have managed to create for myself, I have taken some time to get a little sewing done to fulfill my swapping obligations.

I spent some time last week trying to figure out what hexies I had received and what flowers I have sent out in the Inchy Hexagon Swap and I realized that I have been in this swap for around 6 or so years.  So, I have decided to say goodbye for now.

These are my June flowers and they go to Debra down under.

Then I was asked to make some Angel Flowers (these are flowers for someone who did not get their flowers from the person who was supposed to send them).

These Angel Flowers are winging their way to Nina in Norway.

Also, I thought that with my new longarm adventure I am going to be pretty busy and I decided to leave the POTC swap as of the June swap.  This one is my May POTC block and it is for Janet.  I still have the June POTC block to finish by the end of the month.

Then I have been working diligently on my One Monthly Goal project.  I am trying to get this done by June 18th so I can send it off to Sonny.

I also learned how to load a quilt using the floating top method and to baste the quilt down for quilting.  I also worked on placing the same pattern throughout the quilt but YIKES I had no idea how to do it and it turned out to be a mess!!  So I did some research and found out that I need to "nest" the pattern as I move down the quilt.  So, that is what I am going to work on this morning.

June OMG - One Monthly Goal . . .

A couple of years ago I offered to make a flag quilt top for Sonny, a Vietnam Vet that has devoted his life to making Quilts of Valor for his fellow Vets.  Well, life happened and I moved and packed away the quilt top and then proceeded to lose it!!  Yikes!!  I really wonder just how many things I have "lost" in all my moves.  You can see the completed flag HERE.

Well, I promised myself that if I did not find the completed top by June first I would make another one and have it in the mail to him by the end of June.  So, this is a perfect UFO for Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal!!

I started the top June 1st and this is where I have gotten to as of today!!  If I do 2 rows a days I will be done in time!!

I am linking up to the June One Monthly Goal HERE.
