First Mid-Week Post in Many, Many Years!!

Oh, my gosh, life has been soooo crazy for so long I can't tell you how long!!  Like many of you, I am just trying to get through each day with all it has to offer!!  I am so very blessed - I have reasonably good heath for being 3/4 of a century old, I have a wonderful roof over my head, I have fabulous friends in my life and have LOTS of fabric - just couldn't ask for more!!

And I am here today to announce that I have actually finished a quilt!!  Probably the first one in a long time.  This is my friend, Sharon.  We walk down at the pier every weekday morning.  She offered to be my "holder".

Every year our local Quilt Guild has a Challenge Quilt Contest at the Quilt Show during the Cranberry Festival.  We are each given the same piece of fabric and we have to incorporate it into a baby quilt.  This year the challenge fabric is the background behind the turtles.

Then we do our thing!!  At Guild this past Wednesday we had a parade of all the finished quilts and they were all soooo cute!!  Mine was the only one with lots of color.

I thought I would share some pictures of what we are blessed to see each walk day:

This is one of the many sculptures created by a local business called Washed Ashore.  You can read more about this wonderful business HERE.

We FINALLY got a little rain this morning!!  It has been a very dry summer here like it has been all over the Country!!  I pray you are all blessed with the moisture you need!!

Until next time!!

Well, look at you, posting mid-week!! Love that you took us on your walk along the water's edge. What a treat to see the sights you enjoy each day.
Sharon makes a great quilt holder, and I LOVE your baby quilt!! What baby wouldn't love lots of color? And the way you used the challenge fabric as background for the sea turtles made me smile. Way to go, Kris! I look forward to more midweek updates, girlfriend!
