One Flower Wednesday

I have so admired the hexie flowers that I have seen where the petals are "fussy cut," so I thought I would try to do one.  Wow!!  It is really hard to get those little fussy cut pieces centered!!  There must be a trick and I am hoping some of you that do the fussy cutting will share your tricks with me!!!  This was a flower that was totally out of my comfort zone!!

But I did get to use some of my hand-dyed fabric as the center!!  Woo! Hoo!

To fussy cut with ease you need a template from Jane at want it need it quilt ( Jane from the hexie group) they aren't very expensive and sooooo useful. Mind you , you have to be pedantic as to where you cut and I'm a bit lackadaisical lol

Yes, many use a template. I don't do the normal hexies. (see my blog on Thursdays--except tomorrow). I fussy glue! I tell you what, I'll do a tute next week. I need to so that everyone knows how I do my fussy cuts on my crazy hexies that I do.

Yes I use a template I cut out of an old X-Ray . I bleach it and then it is clear. Great templates and free.
Your hexie looks great.
