is complete!!

A Kaffe Kollaborative

In the style of Kaffe Fassett, I would typically never put borders between the colorful rows of blocks but because this was a collaborative effort by seven different quilters, I wanted to separate each work so each stood alone and could be appreciated as an individual piece of art.  I chose a speckled batik so the weight of the border would not overwhelm the finer touch of the Kaffe.

I am not sure how I am going to quilt it but I have something in mind and I hope it works out as planned!!

Tomorrow night is the grand finale at guild and we are all supposed to have our Row-A-Long quilts complete.  I am lucky I got the top completed!!  I'll take pictures and share!!

Ok, Now This is Nuts!!

I was goofing around this weekend looking into containers I have not seen the contents of in I don't know how long, and I came across this project ~

There are over 24 completed 12" nine-patch blocks, a few vanishing nine-patch blocks done, a bunch of 4-1/2 inch squares cut and ready to turn into another, oh maybe, 20 nine-patch blocks and some left over strings.

Fabulous project!!  Only one problem - I have no recollection of ever starting or working on this quilt top!!  Yiks!!  Do I have a quilting ghost residing in my home with me?  Am I getting old and senile?  I don't know, but luckily I found it before I spend a full-day quilt retreat tomorrow with Tammy over at Two Tangled Threads and a bunch of our friends!!

Make me feel better and tell me you have had this experience too, ok?

Oh, It is So Much Fun . . .

to be working on a quilt again!!  I got the binding on my little LOL mini quilt finished!!

And look how cute the back side turned out ~

I wonder if I could call this a dark and dirty quilt?  Hmmmm!  I am also working on a new project that I will show off when I am a bit further along!!

The Final Row of My Row-Along . . .

was presented last night at Guild and my little wall hanging is going to be fabulous!!  Very me!!

Now, I need to figure out how I want to finish it and I would really like to keep the drama going.  Does anyone have any ideas they would be willing to share with me?

Tonight is My Mini Quilt Guild . . .

and the last row of our Row-Along Challenge.  Every month this challenge got harder and harder as I think I mentioned last month.  Everyone is doing such an amazing job as you can see from the one I got to work on this month ~

This is 6 different women who worked on this quilt and look at how each row compliments each other.

Now, we used the fabrics supplied by the original owner and Kelli had this darling fabric

in her bin and I just had to figure out some way to use it.  So this is the row that I did ~

The 2 end blocks are paper pieced and are called Flying Kite Quilt Blocks.  Then, I hand-embroidered around the outside of the flower in a buttonhole stitch ~

And this is the end result for Kelli's Row Along ~

Is this like totally cute or what??  I can't wait to see the end results for mine tonight.  I will share it with you tomorrow!!

A Sweet Little Baby Blanket . . .

is finally complete!!

I love this flannel - it says "I am a Child of God" in several different languages.

I'll put this away until a new little boy comes into the world in my neck of the woods!!

Wednesday is My Last Day of Work . . .

out in the real world!!  I am sooo excited.  When Janet O. over at Rogue Quilter found out I was going to be done shortly, she asked what was going to be the first project I was going to work on.  Turns out that is a very difficult question to answer!!

I could work on ~

 Putting the binding on this cute little wallhanging, or

I could finish up this vanishing 9-patch quilt that I started for me, or

I could finish up the two commission lap quilts that should have been finished 6 months ago (thank goodness for understanding clients).

Or, I could put togehter and quilt this cute block swap quilt that I have had for over 2 years now, or

I could finish my Ricky times Kaleidoscope quilt, or

I could finish the Kaffe Fasset surprise quilt for some dear friends, or

I could work on the 4-patch stack and whack quilt that I just love, or

I could get going on the Quilts of Valor quilt top I was asked to complete!!

Or, wow, this is ancient history - I could finish up the Dresden Plate quilt I made for one of Madam Samm's Blog hops, or

Get the label completed for my younger brother's quilt so I can finally mail it off to him!!

Or I can get my Studio completely re-figured so that if that younger brother moves here this summer to live with me, he will have some room!!

That way, I can just get the label on his quilt and give it to thim when he comes to visit the end of May to see if he wants to live here!!

OR, I can just start something NEW!!

I Have Been Pretty Much AWOL . . .

from here for over a year now (except for my Saturday Smiles)  .  .  .  so I quit my job and I am back!!
