Thank you! I was a child on a nuclear armed Air Force base in 1959 when our base went on full alert over an issue with Russia over Lebanon. It was a very tense 10 days. Our huge bombers could only be on the ground for 20 minutes at a time. I would wake during the night to hear these huge jets landing and taking off again during the night which was not normal. The huge refueling jets also were required to be in the air almost all the time. Their thunderous noises also woke us up. Because of my father's role as Assistant Base Commander, he had to be within 6 rings of a telephone at all times. Everyone older than 8 was so grateful when these tensions were relieved and our lives returned to normal stress zones.

I think back of this time as a huge wake up call of our great freedoms. America has only been under attack that one time at Pearl Harbor. Our children go to sleep at night not hearing the sound of enemy aircraft. How very blessed we have been in our country, aw well as Canada. Most of us don't need larger houses or more cars. We need more love and more gratitude!

I can just hear that little Pooh voice speaking this simple wisdom. Sweet, and oh, so true!
