Another Flower Surrounded by Love . . .

Another darling Flower for my garden is finished.  The inside flower is from Cathy Thorgrimson from Kenora, Canada and I received it in August, 2014.  The outer row is from Simone Smith from Australia and they were received October, 2015.  I got two outer row sets from Simone, so I look forward to making another flower with the other set she sent to me.

Slow Sunday Stitchin' . . .

In about the 2011 - 2012 time frame, I was taking care of my sweet Father in St. George, UT.  Across the street from us lived this really cool lady.  She was an archeolgist or something to do with old cultures.  When she would go away on an expedition, I would watch her house and bring in the mail and newspapers.

One day she was showing me some of her quilting projects.  All of a sudden she asked me if I would like this one top because she had made it years and years ago and she said she would probably never finish it.   Well, I said YES!!  I would love it!!

I finally got around to having it quilted about a month ago and I just got the binding completed this afternoon and WOW!!

It turned out gorgeous!! I used Kaffe Fassett's Roman Glass in Byzantine on the back and for the binding!!

And my sweet friend Tammy quilted it for me and used a pattern at has Aztec suns on it.  Hopefully, if you click on the picture below to make it larger you can see the fabulous quilting.

Well, It Finally Happened!!

We signed the closing papers on our new little house in Bandon, Oregon that we bought sight unseen except for pictures on Trulia.com!!  It's a little fixer-upper!!  Joanna Gaines here I come!!

It is really a plain Jane, but that is what is going to make it such a fun project!! I have started packing boxes and the plan is to load the moving truck on May 27th.

Yesterday I received my March 2017 second row hexies from Mary Gearheart in Grove City, OH and so here I am withh the completed flower and her gorgeous hexies sewn together ~

 The Taupey brown polka-dotted flower was from Bev Kirk, September, 2014.  I really love these two together!!  What do you think?

Flowers, Meet Your Second Row Hexes!!

Look how fun!!

I am starting a new tradition for myself.  I have lots and lots of polka-dotted flowers with no second rows and lots and lots of second row hexies with no flowers!! So, I have decided that as soon as I get my new monthly second row or rows I am going to find the perfect flower and get them together!! My April second row hexies came from Janet C.R. in Canada a couple of days ago and I found the perfect flower for them. The flower was from Maggie F in Indiana January, 2013!! Are they cute together, or what!!

I Miss Him Every Day!!

Pop you may have passed through the veil from this Earth 5 years ago this morning, but you are in my thoughts everyday and in my heart forever!!
