Thank you, Barbara - I just LOVE it!!  My favorite colors, one of my favorite fabrics and the workmanship is incredible!!  :-))  Pretty soon Janet, I'm going to have a wall of small quilts just like you!!  Woo! Hoo!!

Little Snowman Pillow is Ready to Send Off!!

I love this little embroidery but I am rusty at making pillows, so I won't be making too many more until I get some instruction on making them.  But it did turn out pretty cute!!

Slow Stitchin' Sunday!!

This week I started a new knitting project.  I am trying to stretch myself, so I am making a lace neck scarf using hand-dyed merino wool with a size 3 needle.  I learned quickly on this project that rip it - rip it - rip it is not only a quilting term!!

 I did finish the little baby bonnet that I started last Sunday and it turned out sooooooooo cute.  The booties are almost done too.  I have linked up with Kathy over at Kathy's Quilts.  Go check out what others have been working on today!!

I Can Now Show You . . .

My stitches are getting better - who said practice makes perfect??  :-)

I just received my February Doll Quilt Swap quilt from Lynn H. and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!

Hopefully you can see in this closeup of the center block all the gorgeous hand work Lynn put into this quilt!!  Lynn, thank you from the bottom of my heart - I just LOVE it!!

And even the label is more than wonderful!!

Slow Stitchin' Sunday

Today I am working on this darling little baby hat.  I am using stretch sock yarn so I hope it comes out okay.  This is the first time I have ever used a stretch yarn.  It also has a cute pair of booties to go with the hat.

I really love the idea of Slow Stitchin' Sunday as it gives me time to be quiet and prepare myself for the upcoming  week - and this new week is going to be a doozie!!

My Jelly Bean Swap Goodies Are Here!!

Oh, this has been the most fun swap!!  Not only was it fun picking things out for Pat, my swap partner, but it was even more fun getting her package ~

First of all, Pat wrapped each one individually and here is what she sent:

1.  A bright Umbrella FQ - she sent the lime green with with blue stars - I LOVE lime green!!

2.  An "Old Stuff" FQ - she sent the beautiful Oriental Print - looks like it's made for fussy cutting!!

3.  Batik FQ as an invented Jelly Bean flavor - Pat called her's "Raindrops Delight" - it is the yummy batik - again in greens!!  Woo! Hoo!!

4. Non/Quilting item expressing me as a person - Pat lives on a dairy farm so she sent a little cow keychain!!

5.  Spool of Thread color of Birth Month Flower - Pat's birth month is May and the flower is Lily of the Valley.  

6.  A package of Jelly Beans - Hey, who ate all the jelly beans before I could take a picture??  Pollie???

A dear friend sent this funny YouTube video to me and I wanted to share!!  Its worth the 2 minutes!!

Slow Stitchin' Sunday!!

I have been wanting to find a good way to make rag rugs for the concrete floor (that is now Asparagus green) in my Studio but all of the methods I have looked at or tried were not exactly what I wanted until now ~

This is called "Locker Hooking" and it is so much fun!!  Of course, I will be 230 years old before I finish all the rugs I want down in the Studio!!  This is my trial piece and I am going to use it as a gift for the lady across the street who knocks on my door every so often and says, "I made dinner (spaghetti, burritos, lasagna to name a few) for 4 and now that our daughter is gone, I have this extra helping - would you please help me out and take it off my hands?"  Am I blessed, or what??  :-)

Do you see the big hook?  It is a crochet hook on one end and a needle eye on the other.  Have any of you done this type of rug hooking??  And oh man, I think it will help greatly with the destashing process!!  Woo!  Hoo!!
