Been Looking for an Excuse for a Give-a-Way . . .

and I found one!!  On December 27th I am officially going to be a senior citizen!!  Yup, it's my birthday and I will be 62 years young!!  So, I thought, what a perfect reason to give a gift!!!  Here is what I gathered up


I think there is something for everyone ~ there is fabric to sew, 1" hexie templates, quilting pins, a quilting eraser, 100% long staple cotton YLI machine quilting thread (lite grey), an Add-A-Quarter ruler for those that love paper-piecing or would like to learn, Trans-Web - the best stuff I have found for machine applique, a long tape measure and CHOCOLATE!!!

    What I like most about the Holidays is spending time with family.. what I like least is the retail craziness in the stores!! Thanks for hosting such a wonderful giveaway!

    Hmmm, the least doesn't happen at my house anymore(because I won't go where it does happen anymore) but I just hate it when families get together and argue and fight and don't just enjoy the season and the reason for it.

    I love the way most people are just a little kinder, smile a little more and there is just a little more love in the world for others. I usually hate shopping with crazy mean people, but this year people just seem to be more at peace, even with the economy and uncertainties.

    My favorite thing about Christmas is all the kids and grands coming over, the house is full, we are all cooking and kids underfoot. Its crazy and pure bliss!

    Happy Birthday!! The craziness this time of year drives me crazy. I love seeing all the presents in the different wrapping paper under the tree waiting for the morning. I've always loved laying under the tree looking up at all the lights and seeing what kinds of designs they make on the ceiling.

    This Holiday has been exhausting but enjoyable - helping in our communities recovering from Irene and to be sure every home has a Merry Christmas - the family has been extended tremendously!

    The best part of Christmas the past six years is when my daughter comes home from Virginia for a couple of weeks. She is in medical school now, previously at New Mexico Tech and didn't get a chance to come home very often.

    What I like best is spending time with family. My oldest granddaughter will be 2 on December 27th! That is also one of the best things about this time of the year.

    Happy early B-day, I just happened upon this blog while doing a search, so I thought I'd join in the fun. The best part of the christmas season is the over pouring of kindness that you see. In general most people are kind, but even the biggest scrooge will offer up kindness during the season. Its truly a blessing to see this happen.

    Like Most: Spending time with all the family with 4 generations from my mother down to a 3 mo old grandniece here mid-day Christmas Eve.
    Like Least: Injured my back so cannot do normal activities and in pain.
    Thanks for the lovely giveaway to celebrate a milestone birthday. My late father used to say when we discussed aging and birthdays, "It beats the alternative." Happy Birthday to YOU!

    Fun idea for a birthday celebration!!
    I like the holidays for relaxing and enjoying to my hearts content... whether it be quilting, cross country skiing, shovelling snow, baking and cooking.
    I can't think of anything that I don't enjoy... because I try to avoid those things!!

    I like sharing the story of the birth of Christ (it's a tradition in my family)and spending time with family.

    I don't like taking down all the decorations. :)

    Happy Birthday for the 27th. What I like about holidays especially this year is spending time with family and this year my parents are coming here. What I don't like is the craziness at the supermarket.

    I think the thing I like the least about Christmas is the commercialism. I don't have a problem giving gifts, but people really spend a lot more money than they need too.

    My favorite part of the season is getting together with family and eating all the yummy foods that we don't make any other time of the year. And this year, our daughter stepped up and decided to host it, and this is the first year that either one of my siblings has not been around, so mom & dad are all mine to take care of now.
    The part that I don't care for, is the preparations....decorating ....because nobody else helps.

    My least favorite thing about the holidays is that is doesn't last longer. All the prep work with decorating the house, cooking the meal, wrapping gifts. And then, like your wedding...it's over all too quickly! Let's have Christmas all over again, next week. I guess this is why my mother would find me rewrapping my gifts when I was a little girl. Happy Holidays!
