Slow Sunday Stitchin' . . .

At our Sew Small Guild meeting in March, we brought quilting and sewing things from home that we thought others might like to have and would be willing to pay for them.  The money that was taken in was to go the the Guild.

Although I have plenty of quilting and sewing goodies in my little shop in the basement, I could not think of anything I wanted to part with at that time.  So, instead I made up 6 little "Binding Certificates" wherein I would bind a lap quilt for $10.00 and a queen quilt for $20.00.

Cute Cathie T. purchased a Queen-Size Binding Certificate.  And I was privileged to bind her daughter's gorgeous wedding quilt ~

Cathie's daughter went to Paris in high school I believe and tshe old her Mom she loved Paris and the Eiffel Tower.  Cathie pieced the quilt and custom quilted the queen-sized quilt  and WOW!!  Lucky, lucky daughter!!

Cathie wanted the binding to be cut on the bias and since I had never done a binding on the bias, I was so glad she put the lengths together for sewing.  She matched the stripes - which I NEVER would have thought to do and then I sewed on her penciled lines and finished the binding as usual before sewing it onto the quilt!!

I finished up the last side this afternoon while watching a cute Sally Fields movie.  The binding turned out wonderfully!!  Thank you, Cathie for letting me part of your daughter's wedding quilt!!

Hooking up with Kathy over at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.  Come on over and see what everyone else has been doing today!!

The Enchanting Rose 10th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange Reveal!!

This was the most fun "swap" I have ever participated in!!  Stephanie over at The Enchanting Rose was our hostess and I think enchanting is the perfect word to describe Stephanie!!

The Tea Cup is the main ingredient in our package of goodies and then we are given a list of fun ideas to supplement the Tea Cup we have chosen.  My list was pretty sparse as this is my first (but hopefully not my last) exchange but my package was glorious!!

I received a package from the darling Pamela over at The Lady of the House Speaking and she is a true Anglophile!!  Go check out her blog, it is fascinating!!

And so here is what Pamela sent to me:

Opps, as you can see if you look closely, the Walker's Shortbread and one of the cookies were gone before I got the picture taken!!  That's because Walker's Shortbread is one of my most favorite things in the whole wide world!!

Thank you Pamela, I LOVE all my fun goodies and the tea cup is exactly like the set of dishes that my Grandmother (Nana) had when we were growing up.  I remember spending Saturday nights with my Grandparents and getting to drink tea out of one of these cups with a scoop of ice cream on the side.  I would always take some of the ice cream and put it in my tea.  I don't think that is English style but yum, the memories just flooded back when I unwrapped the cup!!

And Pamela told me that the little pink doily was handmade by a 90-year-old French woman!!  How cool is that!!

I am looking forward to the next Exchange!!  Thank you Stephanie for hosting this very excitting exchange!!

P.S. Stephanie was who I sent a little package to - go check out what everyone plus Stephanie got HERE - I had soooo much fun putting her package together.  Ya know, I was the teacher's pet on this Exchange!!  Hee!  Hee!!
