Last Block - Paper Pieced . . .

Our Guild is making a quilt for the Utah Quilt Guild Ruby Jubilee, which is the 40th birthday of the Guild, and I was fortunate enough to make the last block needed to complete the blocks.

Since I love paper piecing, I drafted up the block on paper and then proceeded to make it.  Oh, so much better than trying to cut and sew all those little pieces!!  The block measures 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" unfinished!!

Now that I see it finished, I don't think there is enough contrast between the medium red and the light red pieces.  Hopefully, it will be okay!!

When the quilt is finished and I have been given the okay, I'll post a picture of it!!

Hey, I'm making a little r/w quilt for that, too.
Don't you think that in the overall effect of the quilt the low-level contrast will be fine?
I'll bet you couldn't wait to pull the papers from your block--or did you have to leave them in until it is assembled?

It's my kind of block! I think is just fine and like Janet said - once it is set in the complete quilt, you won't think twice about it.

Good job! I never would have thought to do that. I'd probably still be struggling with those tiny little pieces! And yes, the contrast is there, and it's fine!m can't wait to see the whole quilt! XO
