Oh, Wow!! That is Hard . . .

Ok, Janet, this will answer your question from your comment on yesterday's post!!  Everytime I try something new with my FMQing, I learn a greater and greater respect for the quilters who are really good at this stuff.

I think I'll go back to meandering for awhile!!

Slow Sunday Stitchin'

Last week when I was over visiting Janet O, the Rogue Quilter, a dear friend of her's had sent her a beautiful single Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses block appliqued onto a background and made into a sweet little mini quilt.  Well, I have been trying to decide what to do with my one (and I hope not only) Lucy Boston block and so this afternoon I stitched it onto a background and now I am going to try some tight FMQ on the background ~

What a fun way to spotlight a Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses block!!  I'm excited!!

Pure Decadence!!

Ok, so I was roaming around Etsy last week and came across these darling paper straws in Susan's shop, Gardening Gal at Work.  Well, I said, I have just GOT to have some of those ~

When they got here today I was amazed at not only how fun they are but how sturdy they are.  I decided I needed to try one out and so  . . .

I made a fresh peach milkshake!!  It worked perfectly and I actually think the milkshake tasted better through that darling flowery straw!!

I Haven't Done Any Sewing . . .

in over a week - not since I finished that last diamond commission quilt that got put in the mail last Monday.

But I was downstairs looking for something - canning jars, I think, and look what I came across ~

This is a mystery quilt in the working that I started over ten years ago in a Yahoo group that I belonged to when I lived in northern California - just about the time I was learning to quilt.

In digging through the box, it looks like I cheated and made a couple of the blocks before finishing all the "mystery" steps - I guess so I could see what it was going to look like finished.  Did I mention patience is not one of my finer points??

Well, since it has, what appears to be Christmas prints, I thought I would start working on it and see if I can have a new throw quilt for the holidays.

I think not sewing for that long gave me a bit of a jump start as I am ready to dive in and get going again!!

On a final note, I FINALLY did get a chance to get over to visit Janet O. at Rogue Quilter to see all the darling mini quilts quilts she has hanging throughout her home and she made us the best brunch with a homemade breakfast cassarole and homemade raspberry scones!!  Oh, they were both so delicious that I wanted seconds, but I was so stuffed that she sent me home with extras AND a sliver of pear pie that was to die for.

Its always so much fun to get together with her and makes me want to be able to go visit all my fun bloggy friends all over the country!!  Maybe even the one who lives on Quilt Lane!!  :-))

Gotta go sort out this box fun of Treasure!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Seems Like I have Been Away ForEVER!!

I have been working on a couple of quilts tops for a quilt designer who needs the tops in time to get them quilted and ready for Market in Houston next month.  Is that fun, or what!!

Well, I got the first one done and spoke with the designer this evening who said I could share a sneekie peek and then once the pattern is completed and the quilt is done, I can show the whole thing - so here it is~

I can't wait until I can show you the whole quilt - it is spectacular!!
