Look What I Got In The Mail Today

I love this book!!  It is written by Mary Lou Weidman and Melanie Bautista McFarland.  Now, these gals "get" me!!  The book is full of fun, wonky patterns and lots of color!!  The little chicken on the front cover looks perfect for a non-traditional baby quilt and the Purple Cow quilt is out of this world!!

I can see some fun, wonky Kaffe Fassett quilts coming from these pages!!  Has anyone out there made any of these wonky blocks or quilts??

Oh, man too many fun quilts to make
and not enough time!!

Mary Lou offered to send me a complimentary book to review on my blog. Still waiting to get it. I'm with you, it looks like a great book! I can hardly wait to play with it.

If you want to creatively fly "without a plane" this book is for you! It is inspiring -- so also is the previous book about quilting outside the box, and for that matter, her earlier books too! She is one of the few quilt artists that I try to collect in entirity -- still a few more of Mary Lou's books to buy, but I will get there! And, if I REALLY like a quilter I meet, I will actually lend her one or two of Mary Lou Weidmann's books!

Fantastic book. Kaffe would look excellent in these blocks. I will be looking forward to seeing some on your blog.

Oh how I wish you were my close personal friend and lived nearby - I'd definitely be visiting you so I could make some of these blocks. Maybe my local library has this book. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for the lovely comments about the new book! I have discovered that once you make one cow in less than a day (great for beginners and advanced) you wanna make more because they are simple and so cute in person! Cowabunga, Americow,Moo'tisse, Marilyn Moo'nroe,Merry ChristMOOs, and loads of other ideas for cows....so FUN! Thanks again for being so great!
